The raw material for the garment has been circulated and recycled at least once. Help us keep circulating!
A garment marked with the "Tångcirkeln" symbol is a garment made from recycled material. The polyester in our swimwear and in our jackets is made from recycled plastic from the sea like old fishing nets or PET bottles.
Many of our products are certified in one way or another, which means that you as a customer should be able to feel sure that you are getting a sustainable product, both in terms of manufacturing and quality. Creating products that are good for both you and the environment is one of our top priorities. We have a legacy to manage, and by that we mean not only our source of inspiration, Bohuslän, but also the legacy we leave behind for future generations.
We want to manufacture clothes in the best way possible. The more knowledge we have, the greater demands can we place on the manufacturing process. And for a garment to be truly durable, it must last for many years. So pass on that shirt. Or the skirt. And let the dress pass for generations. With pride and love.
At least once a year, we organize "emmamalena one more time" where you can hand in your old emmamalena clothes and we sell the clothes. If you want to buy something, you can donate any amount to a year-specific charity.
Textiles today constitute a large environmental burden and affect both water use, pollution and emissions of greenhouse gases. In order to reduce the negative impact that textiles have on our planet, we at emmamalena together with Chalmers have developed a new concept. The result is our "Tångcirkeln" where we want to promote our sustainability work around manufacturing and consumption.
We know it will require the cooperation of all involved, including producers, consumers and designers, to create a more sustainable future for the fashion industry. We at emmamalena are constantly working to choose the best materials as possible in our production and we want to encourage the reuse of our garments.
We love getting to know new people, individuals who share our passion for the ocean, the coast, quality, craftsmanship, and design. And all the other magical things in life. Here you get to meet some of them, who, just like us, appreciate timeless and stylish design.
