This bathrobe is designed and sewn based on a nearly 100-year-old robe from Käringön. It once belonged to a sea-loving man from the island, and since it was purchased sometime in the 1930s, it has been well-loved and used by four generations.
We worked with the original robe with great care – it was fragile, well-worn, and lovingly mended over time. The pattern is beautiful, and the design truly timeless.
Enjoy this magical bathrobe – perfect for warming up after a refreshing swim in the sea, or for adding a touch of luxury after a shower at home.
The robe comes in two sizes and becomes even more absorbent after the first wash, as the terry fabric tightens slightly and the loops grow denser.
If needed, you can carefully trim any loose threads. Unisex.
Inside the collar, you’ll find the story behind our bath collection:
“In the late 1800s, Käringön was first mentioned as a seaside resort. Since then, generation after generation has enjoyed refreshing and healthy swims on the island.
Since 2004, we at emmamalena have been making bathrobes and towels with the hope of carrying on that tradition. Because we love to swim — often, a lot, and all year round!
Be like the sea... DARE!”
