Cotton bathrobe with zipper.
The pattern comes from a nearly 100-year-old bathrobe from Käringön. The zippered style was inspired by Emma's grandmother, Asta, who enjoyed morning baths and often wore the robe with curlers in her hair and a cup of coffee in hand. This model, purchased in the 1950s at NK in Gothenburg, has been a longtime favorite of emmamalena.
Made from high-quality cotton and available in two sizes. We recommend washing the bathrobe before use to enhance its absorbency. The terry will shrink slightly, improving water absorption. Unisex.
You can read our story about our bath collection on the inside of the robe.
"At the end of the 18th century, Käringön was mentioned for the first time as a bathing resort. Since then, generation after generation has enjoyed fresh and healthy bathing on the island.
Since 2004, we have been making bathrobes and towels at emmamalena with the hope of carrying the tradition on. Because we like to bathe. Often and a lot. And preferably all year round! Do like the sea...DARE!"

About us
The story of emmamalena
Our names are Emma and Malena. We started off as friends in school. Now we are friends at work. Two creative people who loves to draw, design and create beautiful, timeless garments and products who last through generations. We always keep the ocean and the west coast archipelago closest to our hearts.
Everything became reality in 2004 when we got offered a small boutique space on Käringön. It was really an old fisherman's cottage. It was during we time we mainly just knitted beanies. Maybe you saw us sitting outside the red cottage knitting? Anyway. To get the space, there was a catch. We had to create a fisherman´s shirt based on an old pattern originated from the island. The Käringö Sweater. That was the true beginning of emmamalena. Read the whole story here.
